Casa Hacienda, a two-story structure that served as an extension office of Ayala y Compañia before World War II, was designated as a temporary home for 100 Tausug scholars studying in Manila.

The Tausug students, who were studying at various Metro Manila schools at the time, faced an uncertain future after the separatist rebellion that had erupted in Sulu resulted in a great fire on the island of Jolo. The fire displaced many families.

The plight of the students caught the attention of Ayala Corporation President Enrique Zobel, who offered to convert Casa Hacienda into a dormitory for the students.

Built in 1902, Casa Hacienda was torn down in 1978 to give way to a park that Ayala Corporation turned over to the Municipality of Makati.
