Arte de la lengua Bisaya
(The art of the Visayan language)
Written by Father Domingo de Esguerra, of the Society of Jesus, in 1662,
this book is reprinted with all the ecclesiastic and governmental
permits in 1747. It is an early and comprehensive study of the Visayan
language of the province of Leyte and includes notes on its variations
when spoken in Zebu (Cebu) and Bool (Bohol). This study was made in
order to be able to spread the Word of God to the Visayans.
