Filipiniana Book Guild Series 1
The rich trove of books and writings about the Philippines, some dating back to the 16th century, is a fundamental and invaluable component of the Philippines’ cultural heritage. In the early 1960s, a group of concerned individuals proposed the formation of an entity that would seek to rescue important works from oblivion. Thus, the Filipiniana Book Guild, a non-profit organization composed of both Filipinos and foreigners, was born in September 1962. Like the original books, however, the Filipiniana Book Guild Series volumes have gone out of print. Fortunately, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL), a unit of the Ayala Foundation, have stepped in and taken the initiative to preserve the guild’s efforts.
This dynamic research tool provides an image archive of all 24 volumes of the Filipiniana Book Guild, Series I published between 1962 and 1976. The CD-Rom contains the collection’s over 10,000 pages in their original state, and a searchable database based on the original table of contents and index of the books.

Filipinas: Isang Kasaysayan
Philippine History through the Ayala Museum Dioramas
A unique, extensive and refreshing CD-ROM on Philippine history, Filipinas: Isang Kasaysayan chronicles details and events up to 1990 (such as the termination of the RP-US Bases Agreement.) What sets it apart from other historical accounts is that Filipinas begins its story in pre-colonial Philippines. This is in recognition of the fact that, while very little material on this period is available, Filipinos need to look at and study our history beyond and before the arrival of Spanish conquistadors. With the beautiful dioramas of the Ayala Museum as a guide, the story of a nation comes to life. Move through hundreds of years of history in this rich multimedia experience.
