The Colegio de la Immaculada Concepcion Concordia, now known as La Concordia College, was officially opened. This school for girls was founded by Margarita Roxas de Ayala—social worker, philanthropist, and pioneering businesswoman (with her husband Antonio de Ayala, she was actively involved in the running of the Ayala business house).
