In celebration of the 113th year of Philippine Independence and the 150th anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal's birth, Ayala Land Inc. presented Colors of Freedom, a series of special events and an exhibition of public art at the Ayala Triangle Gardens. Officially launched on June 10, Colors of Freedom pays tribute to Filipino heroism and nationalism. A major component of the celebration are two public art exhibits—an art installation on the history of the Philippine flag and the path to the nation’s freedom, and an art exhibit commemorating Jose Rizal’s sesquicentennial at the Legaspi, Sedeño, and Salcedo underpasses. The installation on the history of the Philippine flag was developed in cooperation with the Filipinas Heritage Library.
A concert is also scheduled at the Ayala Triangle Gardens, featuring Bituin Escalante, the FILharmoniKA Orchestra, and musical director Gerard Salonga.
Scheduled on June 11 was the Freedom of Youth Fun Day. It included various activities for kids such as storytelling, a paper plane workshop and design contest, a kiddie gardening class, and a sketching competition hosted by the Manila Bulletin.
