The Ayala Multi-Purpose Cooperative, an institutional cooperative for the employees of the Ayala group of companies and its subsidiaries, recently entered into a partnership with the Filipinas Heritage Library to develop the library of the Center of Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX) Manila. The CENTEX Manila Library was inaugurated on September 16.
Through FHL’s flagship program, MyLibrary, Ayala Coop funded the development of the CENTEX Manila Library. Fernando Zobel de Ayala, president of Ayala Corporation and co–vice chairman of Ayala Foundation, was present during the inauguration of the library.
FZA affirmed that it is every child’s right to have access to books and libraries. He also congratulated the people who had worked together to develop the CENTEX Library. In particular he noted that the library was the product of cooperation among two Ayala institutions—Ayala Coop and Ayala Foundation, of which both FHL and CENTEX are a part. FZA said: “This project is a testament to the fact that the spirit of partnership and collaboration within the Ayala group of companies is alive.”
