RAMPAGE author launches book, visits universities

Pulitzer Prize finalist James M. Scott launched his latest book Rampage: MacArthur, Yamashita, and the Battle of Manila in the Philippines last February 12, 2019 at the Ayala Museum, thru the efforts of Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL), home of the Roderick Hall collection on WWII in the Philippines, and National Book Store.

He also had a Campus Book Tour from February 13 to 15, where he talked about the Battle of Manila in the following universities: University of the Philippines – Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University – Manila, University of the Philippines – Manila, University of Asia & the Pacific, and Far Eastern University. He also had a lecture at Ortigas Foundation Library. To arouse awareness, interest, and concern among college students of Metro Manila about the devastating 29-day long battle, an essay writing contest was also launched.

Part of Scott’s research for the book Rampage was conducted at the FHL where the Roderick Hall Collection on WWII in the Philippines is housed. The book is now available for research at FHL.
