| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc - "The story of the WWII 57th Troop Carrier Squadron in the Southwest Pacific as seen through the adventures of one of its youngest pilots, "Biscuit Bomber Bob."
An American flyboy, Bob was put in charge of a C-47, the military version of the DC-3, when only 20. He had to grow up fast, making decisions beyond his years, flying in remote New Guinea and progressively north to reach Tokyo after the Japanese surrendered.
Fly along with Biscuit Bomber Bob in the 37th Troop Carrier Wing with the motto "Vincit Qui primum Gerit" which means "He conquers who gets there first." A teenager one minute, an adult the next.
This largely unsung roll of the troop carriers, represents thousands of young American pilots and crew who far from home, ferried troops, ammunition, and nurses, from one island battlefield to the next, airlifting wounded or ill soldiers to hospitals in the rear, and dropping the vital supplies and food that sustained our people in remote locations. They became known fondly as the "Biscuit Bombers.""
