- Summary, etc. - "The author was taken a war prisoner of U.S army in Mindoro island in January 1945 and was taken into a hospital in Tacloban, Leyte. Mindoro and Leyte were as backgrounds for his literary work "Being a POW". And he visited there again while he was occupied in writing "Battle of Leyte" in March,1967 (Showa 42). There still remained deep-rooted anti-Japanese feelings there yet although war reparation between Japan and Philippines already was resolved." - Masuko Takehisa
