- Summary, etc. - "In December 1943 (Showa 18), at the end of Asia Pacific war, The Tojo cabinet ordered to enroll university / college students, in spite of still themselves being in school, into military service compulsorily to solve the problem of shortage of soldiers (the student mobilization order & departure of students for the front). About three thousand soldiers among them were the 14 group of preparatory students of the naval flying department in the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) and about four hundred soldiers were killed in battle. The place of their death concentrated in Okinawa and Philippines. In the history of preparatory students of the naval flying department in IJN, Only the 14 group were forced to enter to IJN by the military draft, and moreover, were taken strict measures without temporary exemption from military service by the military order. This book is edited and published their literary remains and consists of 47 stories of their wills, diaries, letters, and private notes." - Masuko Takehisa
- Summary, etc. - アジア・太平洋戦争終盤の1943年（昭和18年）12月、東条内閣は兵力不足を補うため、学生を在学途中で徴兵し、およそ10万人の学生を出征させた（学徒出陣）。このうちのおよそ3000人の兵士が、第十四期海軍飛行予備学生であり、およそ400人が戦死した。戦死地のほとんどは、沖縄かフィリピンであった。海軍飛行予備学生の歴史の中で、14期だけが徴兵で海軍に入り、徴兵猶予禁止という非常措置を取られたのである。本書は、大日本帝国海軍飛行予備学生14期生を中心とした遺稿集であり、47編の遺書、日記、手紙及び手記などによって構成されている。- Masuko Takehisa
