- Summary, etc. - "The author was sent to Manila as a medic in February 1943. He was attached to and worked in No. 64 base hospital in McKinley in the suburbs of Manila. But, Japanese army who worked in the hospital was divided in to two groups due to the worsened war situation against Japan. The author came to belong to the first group, which had a little damage in battle. On the other hand, the second group was totally devasted. Why was the second group devastated?
