Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - "The Negritos" is part of "The Philippine Story," an 8-part documentary series directed and produced by British film maker Hugh Gibb and became part of the Ayala Museum's collection in 1977, and now in the collection of Filipinas Heritage Library. The film's focus is on the Negritos of Palanan, Isabela. They live under semi-aboriginal conditions, building lean-tos of leaves and fishing with spears and traps. The highlight of the film is a wedding feast. Originally in 16 mm film format, the film was digitized in 2023 with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
