- General note - Sculptures in bas-relief, depicting four Joyful episodes in the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary; the Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity and Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple, flank the main altar. Done in soft wood, the polychromed sculptures have golf-leaf-painted frames ornamented with whirling patterns over a white plaster background. Shown in photo are the frames on the left side of the main altar, representing the scenes of the Annunciation and the Visitation. Fluted pilasters set flat against the semi-circular wall of the apse separate the frames.
