General Note
  • General note - Photo of restored facade in neo-Gothic design mixed with pseudo-Romanesque elements. Erected in 1590, with Fr. Montoya, O.S.A., as the first parish priest. Originally roofed with cogon. Damaged during World War II, reconstruction was finished in 1950. This area was the scene of fighting during the uprising of Diego Silang in 1763. The belltower, at far left, stands on higher ground and has a blind Gothic arch over its doorway. A narrow staircase is built inside which winds up to the top of the belfry. Still used to signal liturgical hours. (Ektachrome).
