General Note
  • General note - On the highest elevation of Bondolan point, a chapel was erected in honor of the Blessed Mother during the Marian year of 1954 by a few members of the Ledesma-Lopez family who survived the Second World War. The chapel overlooks the whole of Guimaras island and the southeastern coast of Panay. Photo shows the strait of Iloilo in the background and farther to the right (faintly seen) the shores of Villa Arevalo and Oton, the supply base of Spanish expeditions to the south and the Moluccas. Somewhere in this vicinity an English merchant vessel was sunk in 1900.
