General Note
  • General note - Arresting feature of the San Joaquin parish graveyard is the Gothic-inspired, octagonal ermita with a red-painted, iron dome. The mortuary chapel is reached by a flight of wide limestone stairs, flanked by thick walls of coral blocks quarried from the reefs along the shores of San Joaquin. The cemetery was constructed by Fr. Mariano Vamba in 1882 and is considered as the most attractive cemetery in the entire province.
