- General note - Photo shows the restored walls. The convent was known as the Casa de Palacio Real and was used as much by civilian officials as by parish priests. At times, the convent was used as a "Presidencia Municipal." For a time, the convent served as the Colgio de Santa Monica, a branch of the Liceo de Manila. (Source: Angels in Stone by Pedro G.
