  • Title - Five mestizos from Manila
General Note
  • General note - Five young mestizos pose for an American photographer in the early 1900''s. The ladies are dressed in very finely embroidered jusi or piña camisa and pañuelo and checkered skirts of abaca, folded like the traditional patadyong. The three young men wear the fashionable americana cerrado brought to the country by the new colonizers. Chinese tailors made these suits available for P12.00 hecho derecho.
