Title Statement
  • Title - The Philippine terno
General Note
  • General note - When fashion was young in the Philippines, Filipina women wore this simple mestiza dress consisting of a long-sleeved camisa, an embroidered panuelo and a wide voluminous skirt. This style went on until the earlier part of the nineteenth century, when adornments of embroidery and laces made the dress more becoming. Brightly colored ternos also became very popular.
