General Note
  • General note - Morga wrote Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas, a book covering the years 1493 to 1603, and the history proper of the Philippines from 1565. Sucesos was published in Mexico. The Sevilla-born Morga sailed to Manila from Acapulco in 1595 in charge of the vessels that brought in reinforcement for the Spanish military. He remained in the Philippines for eight years during which time he was senior auditor at the Manila Audiencia and later took charge of the operations against the Dutch.
