Notes
  • Notes - Oil on canvas. 49.5 x 38.7 cm. Born in Tondo, Manila, on April 25, 1888, Arellano married the former Naty Ocampo by whom he has a son, Oscar. Juan M. Arellano became one of Manila's famous architects. His most important accomplishments that survive to this day are the Post Office building and the Metropolitan Theater both at Liwasang Bonifacio- Plaza Lawton in Arellano's time. As to his later paintings, they were executed with bright colors, in vigorous impasto, like those of the Fauvists. Arellano held several one-man shows in his time.
