General Note
  • General note - Poet and dramatist. Born October 5, 1813 in Cadiz, died August 26, 1884 in Madrid. Studied medicine but turned to playwright. Influenced by French romantic school, as Hugo, Dumas, and Lamartine. Went to Cuba as newspaperman then, Mexico, returned after five years and produced greatest works, including " Juan Lorenzo". Became director of the Archeological Museum in Madrid in 1872 until his death.
