General Note
  • General note - Former Justice George A. Malcolm of the Philippine Supreme Court was one of the few Americans who will always be remembered as a friend and benefactor of the Filipinos. He became a professor and dean of the College of Law of the U.P. and he himself founded the college. In 1917 he was appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Highly interested in the elevation of the law profession, in 1916 he organized the Philippine Bar Association and became its first president. He likeswise organized the Philippine chapter of the American Bar Association. On January 20, 1936, Justice Malcolm resigned from the Supreme Court of the Philippines to become Legal adviser to the United states High Commissioner.
