General Note
  • General note - Sedeño was one of the three earliest Jesuits in the country: he came from Mexico in 1581 with the Dominican Domingo de Salazar, the first bishop of Manila. He spent the rest of his life in the Philippines introducing new manufacturing techniques and industries to the natives. He likewise founded the first school in the country and was instrumental in the establishment of Misericordia. He died in 1595 at age 60
