  • Title - Faustino Villabrille
General Note
  • General note - Born in Pizon, province of Oviedo, Spain, on January 11, 1834. Started his military career in 1855 and made sergeant in 1856. In January 1863, he left Cadiz for Manila. In 1866 he became a member of the special commission to arrest the bandits of Nueva Ecija; in November 1867, he was sent to Cagayan and Isabela; in May he was sent to Batangas and fought agaisnt 30 bandits, defeated them and confiscated their ammunitions. In 1873 he reenforced his regiment and joined the guardia civil; killed Dilat (Nicolas Aporto) most notorious bandit in Pasambuaya forest in Cavite for which he was awarded "Cruz Roja de primera clase de Merito Militar"; he defeated the celebrated notorious outlaw Sebastian Mandalayan in June 1876 in Cavite; was made a Captain in November 1876. Among his numerous captives were Tankad and Bulag from Nueva Ecija and Bulacan.
