Notes	Notes - Thick black smoke shrouds the peak of the erupting volcano in this photograph taken in July of 1928. Mayon has erupted several times in the past, the first on record being that which occurred in 1616. All of these eruptions hauled down sand and stone which buried cultivated fields and towns. July 21, 1928.
