- General note - Photo of unfinished reconstruction of an old mosque in Kunalarang, Isabela, Basilan. When finished, the structure, built of hollow blocks, promises to be the biggest in the entire province. On this site, the first mosque of Basilan was built by Sabuddin Ismael, first hadji of the province Mosque-building is a community project among the Moslems: members of the community underwrite the expenses and also provide cooperative labor. The Samals of Kumala-rang who have spent some P17,000 for the reconstruction of their mosque hope to erect in the near future an imposing minaret higher than the tallest coconut tree beside the mosque.
