  • General note - Photo shows the Bishop''s Palace located west of the cathedral. On this spot stood the former church convent built by Lucas Corominas in 1872. Comprising the whole province of Bohol, the diocese was formed on Nov. 8, 1941; previously it was part of the Archdiocese of Cebu. Tagbilaran's first bishop and diocesan administrator from 1946-1951 was the Most Rev. Julio Rosales, later Archbishop of Cebu and subsequently a Cardinal Succeeding him was Bishop Manuel MascariƱas.
