General Note
  • General note - Directly facing Tagbilaran is the municipality of Dauis, the first established by the Spaniards in Bohol. Geographically, the poblacion site is located on a point or cape; hence, its name "Dauis" which means point or cape. The town was formerly named Mariveles. Found here is one of the biggest churches of Bohol, seen at the right. Although two causeways connect the island of Panglao to Tagbilaran, the one seen in photo, passing through the Dauis municipal site, is more popular.
