| General Note |
- General note - Local troops from Duero, during the Philippine-American hostilities, fortified a cliff in barrio Cabantian which is about 4 km. from the poblacion. Called Fort Verde, it made an ideal stronghold, being accessible only from one entrance. Several attempts made by the Americans to take the fort failed, until the secret entrance was discovered by an American soldier in July 1901. The fort was subsequently taken and native soldiers safely retreated to barrio Mayana of the same town.
