General Note
  • General note - On this site, about 15 meters away from the church and a few meters away from the former shoreline, the Catholic cemetery of Catarman used to lie. The eruption of Mount Catarman in 1871 created a mild geological disturbance in underlying towns and submerged the cemetery under the sea, bringing the shoreline a few meters inland. During good weather and at low tide, tips of tombstone crosses can be seen beneath the surface of the shore.
