| General Note |
- General note - This small volcano, 1,900 feet high with a base of about 3,000 feet in diameter, completely destroyed the town of Old Catarman (now Bonbon) and surrounding barrios. Volcan Da-an is a subsequent fissure of the ancient Catarman volcano (Hibok-Hibok). Occupying a spot that was formerly a depression, it leans upon the slope of its mother cone, Hibok-Hibok, and faces the west coast. The violent eruption of May 1, 1871 caused extensive destruction, notably the Old Catarman church, the ruins of which may still be found at Bonbon. It was active for about 4 years.
