- General note - This town with white sandy beaches is also known for its "Escala de Jacob", hand-carved stairs of flat stones and lime leading to the grotto of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The steps begin on the seashore, ascend to the center of the poblacion and finishes with its last step on level with the ancient church. The highest of the 144-step stairway is about 200 feet above sea level.
