General Note
  • General note - On October 20, 1936, Cebu town became a full-fledged city, one of the first to be granted a charter under the Commonwealth Government. During World War II, the original building was completely destroyed. The present edifice was constructed after the war in the site (left of the Santo NiƱo Basilica) called "Lutaw," which in Cebuano means floating. The site was formerly a swamp.
