| General Note |
- General note - The premier street of Cebu's Chinese mestizo district, with rows of ancestral houses belonging to the Chiong-Velosos, the Valles, the Gantuangcos and the Cuencos among others. The houses were mostly made of limestone blocks, molave posts, tindalo walls and attractive red-tile roofs. To keep the house interiors cool and well-ventilated, large windows of wooden frames and capiz panes could be opened wide by sliding. The sidewalks were kept shaded by overhanging roofs called media-aguas or tayamtam. Street gas lamps are present.
