  • General note - Ruins of the Japanese pyramid erected beside the Ohta obelisk where the closely knit Japanese community in Mintal used to live. The immigrants had their own association organized to protect their interests, their primary schools, a Japanese language school, Buddhist temples and two newspapers: the "Davao Mainichi" and the "Manila Nichi Nichi". Davao was then known as "Little Tokyo"
