| General Note |
- General note - Fishermen show an afternoon''s catch, consisting of garfish some one-half to a meter long. These fish have long snouts and hard scales. There are at least five species of small sardines caught here in commercial quantities: the fimbriated herring (tunsoy or tabagac), Indian sardines (tamban or tuloy) , deep-bodied herring lapad or dughanan) and tambantuloy and tulis. The mackarels are the short-bodied, striped; including Spanish mackarels (hasa-hasa, bulao and tanigue or tanguinguie, respectively). Although fishing is carried on throughout the year, the peak of the season falls from April to October when the young herrings and mackarels are caught in great quantities.
