General Note
  • General note - Located near the shore of Guimbal was a watchtower, the ruins of which can still be found at present. Guimbal was frequently raided by the Muslims, the most memorable of which was that of 1765 when, under the leadership of Father Juan Campos and two residents, Felipe de Santiago and Nicolas de Tolentino, the people of Guimbal scored a complete victory. The enemy left 70 of their men wounded on the beach, 80 prisoners, 36 dead, their weapons, and five of their vessels.
