- General note - This museum of Islamic Arts of the Mindanao State University was constructed from a donation of the Karim Aga Khan IV in 1968. It houses collections of Muslim relics, artifacts of the different indigenous cultures of the people in the Minsupala regions; the Natural Science Collection, which contains more than 15,000 specimens of birds, mammals, reptiles, wild-life and the flora and fauna of Mindanao; and the unique culture and costumes of the people in the area. Today the university has perhaps the biggest collection of Muslim arts in the country. Music and songs of the Maranaws and other cultural minorities are taped.
