  • Notes - Oil drawing on canvas. 16 " x 20". Villa Exhibit, Luz Gallery,1971. Villa is considered the most important living Filipino poet in English. He was studying at the U.P., writing stories and poetry and winning prizes for creative pieces, when he published a controversial poem, "Man Songs", and was expelled. He went abroad, studied at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He started painting in his New York home when he ceased writing stories. His poems have been included in the anthologies of modern poetry edited by Conrad Aiken, Seklden Rodman and Oscar Williams.
