| General Note |
- General note - Aerial photo shows the administrative zone of Makati, where imposing edifices house business offices. On the foreground are buildings fronting Buendia Avenue, while at the center are those along Ayala Avenue, Makati''s main boulevard which is six-lanes wide. The Intercontinental Hotel and the Makati Commercial Center are seen at the upper right hand corner. Located some 12 kilometers south of Manila, Makati was formerly an unimpressive municipality with wide stretches of swamp and cogon grass lands. It was developed into a model urban community shortly after the second World War by the Ayala Corporation of the Roxas, Ayala and Zobel families who own more than one half of the entire 1,650-hectare municipality.
