- General note - Shown is Aviles Street in San Miguel, Manila. This street, one of the most aristocratic in the 19th century, used to be called Calzada de Malacañang until it was renamed by Jose Vicente de Aviles sometime in 1869 or 1870. It would receive another name, J.P. Laurel, in 1959. The entrance to Malacañang, then the residence of the American governor-general, is shown on the right, c. 1910.
