- General note - In honor of Our Lady of Biglang-Awa (Sudden Mercy), patroness of the province, a shrine was built in 1970 at the foot of the hill below the Boac church and facing the town''s main street. Here Mass is celebrated occasionally. The enshrined statue is a replica of the original brought to Marinduque by the Jesuits in the 17th century.
