| General Note |
- General note - Scattered around Marinduque island are numerous islets of various sizes and shapes, the most famous of which are the Tres Reyes islands in the southwest. In order of their proximity to the municipality of Gasan to which they belong, the islands are named: Gaspar, 2 miles offshore and 270 feet high; Melchor, 3½ miles away and 250 feet high; and Baltazar, 5 miles farther and 355 feet high. Of the three, only Gaspar and Baltazar are inhabited. Water reservoirs have been constructed on these two islands for people depend solely on rain water for daily use. The islands were originally named after the three monarch-suitors of the legendary Queen Malindig of Marindugue who came from the Empire of Mu. Teey were Laki of Hilaga (North), Manga of Katimogan (South) and Pangikog of Silangan (East). They were named after the three wise men of the East.
