| General Note |
- General note - The park beside the San Agustin Cathedral, constructed some time in the mid-19th century, was named after its builder, Segundo Gaston, a former mayor of Cagayan de Oro, governor of Misamis Oriental and later congressman. Here, week-end zarzuelas produced by Toribio Chavez and occasional juegos de toros (bullfights) were held. Devastated with the cathedral in 1944, it was reconstructed in 1962 by Justiniano Borja, mayor of Cagayan de Oro at that time. Chief attraction of the well-kept park is the large circular fountain at the center which is opened every Wednesday afternoon during the novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and also during feasts and on special occasions. Seen in the background is the city water reservoir said to have been constructed during the Spanish regime.
