Notes
  • Notes - A historic cave in Cagayan de Oro, some 2 kilometers from the airport, where native soldiers won a major battle against the Americans on June 4, 1900. The Americans landed in Cagayan de Oro on March 17, 1900, but were met with severe opposition and as a result several battles ensued. In Makahambus all the Americans who took cover inside the cave were annihilated. The Filipinos, under the command of Major Apolinar Velez, suffered one casualty. Later, on January 4, 1901, Velez was captured by Captain Sydney A. Cloman in the barrio of Opol, now a municipality.
