- General note - Photoengraving of a typical tribunal in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, c. 1895. The tribunal is a sort of town-hall, where the head men of the village meet to transact business. It contains a pair of stocks, or some other contrivance for the detention of prisoners. It is frequently used as a barrack for troops, and any traveler who chose to do so was welcome to lodge there.
