| General Note |
- General note - This zigzag road marks the boundary between Pagbilao and Atimonan along the national highway. Oftentimes called the Atimonan zigzag, it leads to the summit of the mountain park. A hill somewhere in this vicinity (Pagbilao side) is named Pinagbanderahan ("place where the flag was raised"). From here the insurgents of 1896 and 1898 gave signals to their comrades from Tayabas, Lucena, Mauban and Alabat island, usually by raising a red flag. Tayabas was one of the first provinces in Luzon to revolt against the Spanish colonial government, and kept up the struggle when the Americans came in 1898. It was taken over by Gen. Miguel Malvar on August 15, 1898, in behalf of the Revolutionary Government.
