| General Note |
- General note - Some 5 kilometers south of Atimonan and along the highway in the eastern coast of the province, stands an arresting landmark. Named Maria Aurora Castle in honor of the wife of Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon, it is an observation station which looks like a castle-fortress at a distance. A jutting mass of huge limestone rock, sculpted by the waves of Lopez bay, inspired the construction in 1966 of the "castle" on top by the Atimonan municipal board. From here one gets a commanding view of Alabat island across the Mauban coastline to the left, and the Gumaca-Lopez shoreline to the right.
