| General Note |
- General note - Natives living at the foot of Mount Banahaw (the Quezon part) believe that Jesus Christ once lived on the mountain slopes, bathed in its rivers and springs, carried His cross and died there. Legend claimed that soon after His Resurrection, Christ ordered 7 angels to transport Calvary from Jerusalem to Banahaw "so that He may be known where He is not yet known." Mt. Banahaw, therefore, has become a popular pilgrimage center during Holy Week, when thousands from Quezon and the surrounding provinces flock to pay homage. Photo shows one of its sacred spots, the Pinaggapusan rock, where Christ, allegedly, was placed to be scourged. "The rock still bears the traces of the rope," believers would tell. Another spot nearby is called Pinagdapaan, believed to be the place where Jesus fell while carrying the cross.
